FLORENCE N. RENSHAW
A memorial service for Florence N. Renshaw, a San Anselmo resident since 1906, will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Holy Innocents Episcopal Church in Corte Madera,
Mrs. Renshaw died Saturday at the Marin Convalescent and Rehabilitation Hospital in Tiburon after a short illness.
Mrs. Renshaw was born in San Francisco and moved to San Anselmo after her family’s home burned in the 1906 earthquake and fire.
Her father, Sylvester Saywell, had previously purchased the lot with plans to build a summer home, but changed it to a permanent residence after the fire. An early contractor in the area, he built many homes and commercial buildings, including the Wells Fargo Bank in San Anselmo.
Mrs. Renshaw was a homemaker. She had been a longtime and active member of the Holy Innocents Episcopal Church.
Her husband, Barclay Renshaw, died previously.
She is survived by two cousins, John Dempsey of Tiburon and Ruth Chapton of San Ramon.
Burial will be at Mount Tamalpais Cemetery in San Rafael.
Her family prefers that memorial contributions be made to the church.
