MARY LOU STRIBLING
Graveside services for Mary Lou Stribling of Larkspur, an author of a best-selling book on crafts, will be held at the Raymond Cemetery in Raymond, Miss.
Mrs. Stribling, 65, died Sunday at home in Larkspur.
She was a native of Mississippi and a graduate of Louisiana State University.
Mrs. Stribling had lived in Larkspur since 1966, when her husband retired from a career in the Air Force.
She was an expert craftswoman and had written three books. One, “Crafts from North American Indian Arts,” was chosen by the Book-of-the-Month Club in 1975.
A second book, “Mosaic Techniques,” was about her hobby of creating mosaic tiles. The third book was “Art from Found Materials.”
Mrs. Stribling also wrote about crafts for several national magazines, including Better Homes and Gardens and Family Circle.
After moving to Marin, she worked as an art critic for the Independent Journal.
Survivors include her husband, Robert A. Stribling of Larkspur; a son, Brad C. Stribling of Danville, Contra Costa County; and one grandson.
Burial will be at Raymond Cemetery.
The family prefers memorial contributions to Hospice of Marin.
