SAMUEL SMICKLER
The funeral for Samuel Smickler Jr., 62, of San Rafael, will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Keaton’s Mortuary in San Rafael.
Mr. Smickler died Monday at Kaiser Hospital in Terra Linda following a short illness.
He was a native of Ohio and had lived in San Rafael for the past 40 years.
He was a civil engineer and had worked for the state Highway Department of Transportation.
Mr. Smickler is survived by his wife, Dorothy Smickler of San Rafael; three daughters, Saundra Ann Lieberman of Novato, Susanne Eaves of Davis and Mary Ann Campion of San Rafael; his mother, Katherine Smickler, of Greenbrae; a brother, David Smickler of San Rafael; and two grandchildren.
Burial will be private.
The family prefers memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society, the Center for Attitudinal Healing or Cancerport.
