Charles Simes Passes Away

Charles Henry Simes died at his home No. 507 Irwin street on Tuesday April 22nd, succumbing to pneumonia and other troubles.

The deceased was a good citizen and has lived in Marin county for many years coming to San Rafael from a ranch that he owned in San Geronimo. The funeral services will be conducted by Rev. Lynn T. White and the interment will take place in Mount Tamalpais cemetery on Friday morning.

Mr. Simes was a pioneer of Marin county; seventy-five years ago he drove the stage between Nicasio and San Geronimo, and probably no man in the county had a larger acquaintance.

The deceased leaves a son, Russel Simes, who is in business in Mill Valley, and a daughter, Mrs. John Tobin, a widow who also lives in Mill Valley.
