A private service will be held for Irwin Segbarth of Kentfield, who died Saturday at Ross General Hospital after a long illness. He was 83.
A native of Wisconsin, Mr. Segbarth came as a youth to Southern California, where he later founded a grocery store. Mr. Segbarth, a baseball and billiards fan, retired at the age of 50. He moved to Marin 20 years ago.
Survivors include his wife, Elenore Segbarth; a son, Robert Segbarth of Palo Alto; two step-sons, Alfred J. Schwarz Jr. of San Rafael and Charles Schwarz of El Cerrito; a step-daughter, Clare Ritter of Novato; two sisters, Ruth Segbarth of Palo Alto and Cora Stanley of New Jersey; and two granddaughters.
The family prefers donations to a favorite charity.
