THOMAS A. JACKSON

A private funeral will be held Wednesday on Maui, Hawaii, for Thomas A. Jackson, a former longtime resident of Marin County.

Mr. Jackson died Thursday at his home in Kihei, Maui, after along illness. He was 80.

He was born in England and, after 20 years in the British Army, emigrated with his family to Tiburon in 1950. During his military years, he held the post of physical education instructor at Sandhurst Military College in England.

Mr. Jackson lived in Marin for about 18 years. From 1951 to 1974, he was an officer for the Bank of California in San Francisco. In 1974, he retired from the bank and moved to Maui four years later.

Mr. Jackson is survived by his wife, Ellen Jackson; two sons, Thomas Jackson of Tiburon and Ray Jackson of Lahaina, Maui; a daughter, Joyce H. Stansbury of Tiburon; three sisters, Caroline Bryce of Australia, Mary McPhail of Toronto, Canada, and Elizabeth Paterson of Spreckelsville, Maui; and four grandchildren.

Burial will be at sea.
