JOHN ‘TED’ HANSEN

A funeral for John “Ted” Hansen of Petaluma, a retired greenskeeper at the Mill Valley Gold Course, will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Russell and Gooch Funeral Chapel in Mill Valley.

Mr. Hansen died Sunday at Petaluma Valley Hospital after a long illness. He was 88.

Born and raised in Mill Valley, Mr. Hansen moved to New York in the 1930s and worked for a utility company. He returned to Mill Valley after the start of World War II and worked at the Marinship shipyards in Sausalito. He moved last summer to Petaluma.

He was a life member of the Moose Lodge in New York and the Marin chapter of the Sons in Retirement.

His wife, Eva L. Hansen, preceded him in death.

Friends may visit the mortuary today after 1 p.m. The rosary will be recited today at 8 p.m. at the mortuary.

The family prefers memorial donations to a favorite charity.
