RICHARD D. GENTHER
Retired Lt. Col. Richard D. Genther of Sausalito died Friday at Marin General Hospital. He was 56.
He was born in Allentown, Pa., and moved to California more than 30 years ago.
He served in the Air Force for 17 years, retiring in 1982. He was a public school teacher in San Francisco after he retired.
He enjoyed painting landscapes.
Mr. Genther is survived by his wife, Neomi Genther of Sausalito; two sons, Rolf C. Genther and Ted A. Genther, both of Sausalito; two daughters, Deborah Smith of San Francisco and Kathy Coffee of Sausalito; a brother, Donald Genther of Texas; and three grandchildren.
A private memorial service will be held Monday. Inurnment will be at Presidio National Cemetery in San Francisco.
