Mrs. Martha Jane Hughes passed away on Tuesday, June 24th, at the residence of her daughter, Mrs. J. E. Dickson, in the Warden tract, aged 71 years. Mrs. Hughes has been in poor health for a long time, and succumbed to a chronic malady. She was a native of Tennessee, but came to this town from Oakdale, Stanislaus county, and the remains will be shipped to that place for interment.
