LUISA C. GORIA

A Mass of Christian Burial was to be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. today at St. Vincent de Paul Church in San Francisco for Luisa C. Goria of San Francisco, mother of Ada Duner of San Rafael.

Mrs. Goria, 90, died unexpectedly Sunday at French Hospital in San Francisco.

She was remembered by her friends and family for her dedication to her Italian heritage.

In 1975, she was awarded the Solidarity Star, a top Italian award, for her outstanding contribution to the cultural relations between the United States and her homeland.

“She promoted anything Italian over here,” said her daughter, Ada.

Mrs. Goria was active in the Leonardo da Vinci and Salon Francais clubs in San Francisco.

She was born in Brandizzo, Italy, and studied in England, France and Switzerland. She came to San Francisco in 1923.

She was a gourmet cook, excellent swimmer and enjoyed studying and discussing politics.

Her husband, Dr. Victor Goria, died in 1977.

In addition to her daughter, she is survived by a son, Victor Goria of San Francisco, and four grandchildren.

The family prefers memorial contributions to the American Heart Association.
