GERTRUDE HELEN SHIPPEY
Gertrude Helen Shippey, a longtime resident of Ross, died unexpectedly Tuesday at Ross General Hospital.
Mrs. Shippey, 86, was born in San Francisco and moved to Ross 50 years ago.
Her husband, Hugh Shippey, died several years ago.
She is survived by two sons, Hugh Shippey Jr. of Fairfax, and David Shippey of Portola Valley; a daughter, Gertrude Norris of Ross; a brother, Phillip Collischonn of San Rafael; a sister, Elizabeth Ainsworth of Pacific Palisades, Los Angeles County; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. John’s Episcopal Church in Ross.
The family prefers memorial gifts to the Sierra Club.
