MILDRED D. ANKER
A memorial service for Mildred D. Anker of Lafayette, a former longtime resident of Marin, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Community Presbyterian Church in Danville.
Mrs. Anker, 75, died Friday at John Muir Hospital in Walnut Creek after a brief illness.
The former Mildred Dyal was a native of Indiana. She moved to Marin 32 years ago.
An active member of the San Geronimo community, she founded the first nursery school in the area.
She is survived by two daughters, Anna Nickel of Lafayette and Andrea Beard of Nampa, Idaho; two sisters, Dymple Albord of Vancouver, Wash., and Lillian Fromm of Hemet, Riverside County; a brother, Robert Dyal of Tacoma, Wash.; and six grandchildren.
The family prefers memorial gifts to the Deacon’s Fund of the Community Presbyterian Church of Danville, 222 West Pintado Road, Danville, 94526.
