RICHARD JOHN MAYER
A memorial Mass will be celebrated at 1 p.m. Friday at St. Rita’s Church in Fairfax for Richard John Mayer, a former longtime Fairfax resident.
Mr. Mayer died unexpectedly May 20 at his home in Marina, Monterey County. He was 54.
He was a transportation engineer and partner of Drachman Associates of San Francisco.
He was born in Queens, New York, and came to the Bay Area in 1961. He lived in Fairfax from 1963 to 198, when he moved to Monterey County.
Survivors are his wife, Jeanette; two sons, James Mayer of Portland, Ore., and Christopher Mayer of Fairfax; and a sister, Marilyn Devine of Malverne, Long Island, N.Y.
The family has asked that memorial donations be sent to St. Anthony’s Dining Room in San Francisco.
