G. WILLIAMSON

G. WILLIAMSON, a brother of Mrs. A.E. LANGFORD of this city, was killed during the New Year week in a landslide at the Red Ledge Mine in Nevada County. Mr. Williamson was well known in this city having lived here at one time for several months. Mrs. Langford and son Clifford Langford left for the north upon receiving the news.

The accident occurred between 4 and 5 o'clock in the afternoon just as Mr. Williamson, his brother, and an employee were about to leave the ill fated mine. The first slide occurred when they were at the mouth of the mine. Mr. Williamson, being deaf, did not hear the coming slide. His brother tried to save him, but both were caught in the mine, while the employee made his escape.

After several minutes, the brother managed to make his way out when a second and third slide came. Mr. Williamson was taken from the mine 15 minutes after the first slide, only to die a few minutes later.
