SAMUEL F. HENNING

Samuel Frederick Henning, a longtime Tomales dairyman, died Sunday at a local hospital after collapsing at his home. He was 65.

A native of Ireland, Henning came to the United States in 1937 settling in the Tomales-Petaluma area. He served in the Army during World War II.

After his discharge Henning returned to Tomales and began operation of the family dairy ranch on Whittaker Bluff Road.

Henning was a member of St. John’s Episcopal Church of Petaluma and the Druid Lodge of Tomales.

He is survived by his wife, Annabelle Henning; a son, Dennis Henning of Petaluma; a brother, Tom Henning of Napa; and four sisters, Rae Wilson of Petaluma, Lucy Hughes of Menlo Park, Nan Kilpatrick of Camarillo and Agnes Young of Ireland.

A funeral will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the Parent Funeral Chapel, Petaluma. Burial will be at Cypress Hill Memorial Park.

Contributions may be made to the Organ Fund at St. John’s Episcopal Church.
