DONALD H. CHARLESTON

The funeral for Donald Howard Charleston, longtime Novato resident, has been held in South Dakota.

Mr. Charleston, who was 61, died May 29, just three weeks after returning to Centerville, S.D., his home town.

He was born and reared in Centerville and attended South Dakota State University.

During World War II he served with the Army Air Corps.

After the war, he moved to Novato, where he lived until last month. He worked in landscaping.

He is survived by two sons, John Charleston of Novato and Thomas Charleston of Sonoma; two daughters, Rita Scott of Petaluma and Patricia Charleston of Foster City; his brother, John Charleston of Branson, Mo.; and two sisters, Alice Charleston of San Francisco and Verda Halverson of Laguna Beach.

Burial was in the Riverview Cemetery in Centerville.
