DON STEWARD

Services have been held for Don Steward, a longtime Marin resident and Bay Area media personality, who died after a long illness Monday, Nov. 30, 1987. He was 75.

Mr. Steward was buried at a private ceremony Dec. 4 at Skylawn Memorial Park near Half Moon Bay.

A native of Buffalo, Minn., Mr. Steward lived in the Bay Area for the past 30 years. During that time he worked as a newspaper reporter and editor, business executive, radio producer and television personality.

He was an entertainment editor at the San Francisco Examiner before working as a real estate editor at the San Francisco Chronicle. He also had worked for the San Mateo Times and Peninsula Times Tribune.

In 1959, Mr. Steward opened a public relations firm in San Francisco. He also hosted a Sunday morning television program, “Your Money’s Worth,” which was broadcast on KPIX channel 5. A radio version of the program was carried on KGO as well as other of Mr. Steward’s radio programs, including “Dining Out With Don Steward.”

Mr. Steward was married to Ann McConnell Steward, who died in 1984.

Survivors include a son, Donald Steward Jr. of Rohnert Park, and a grandchild.
