JOHN N. DILLENBURG Sr.
John N. Dillenburg Sr. of Novato died Tuesday at home in Novato.
He was 76,
Mr. Dillenburg was a native of Aurora, Ill.
He was a city official in his hometown for 16 years.
Mr. Dillenburg was a past president of the Indian Valley chapter #68 of Sons in Retirement and a member of the Novato Senior Citizens Club.
He also belonged to numerous clubs in his hometown and served as past director of the Aurora Council of Clubs.
Mr. Dillenburg was a member of the Aurora Elks Club #705, Aurora Moose Club #400, Illinois Seniors Club, Catholic Foresters Aurora Branch, the 3rd Ward Club, the American Lucemburger Club, the Irish Fellowship Club, the Phonenix Club, and was founder and past president of the 7th Ward Club of Aurora.
Softball was a favorite sport of Mr. Dillenburg’s and he was a past secretary of the International Softball League of America.
Mr. Dillenburg also was a past president of the Aurora Softball League, former manager of Aurora All-Stars and a past president of the Fox Valley Softball League.
Survivors include his wife, Laura S. Dillenburg; a son, John N. Dillenburg Jr. of Novato; and a grandson and step-grandson.
A funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Keaton’s Chapel of Marin in Novato.
Burial will be at Valley Memorial Park in Novato.
Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Keaton’s Chapel of Marin.
