NELS PETERSEN
A memorial service for Nels Petersen of San Rafael will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday at Keaton’s Mortuary in San Rafael.
He died Thursday at Marin General Hospital after a long illness. He was 79.
He was born in Denmark.
Mr. Petersen had lived in San Rafael for the last five months with his niece, Carol Stewart. Before that he had lived in Laguna Hills for 15 years.
Before moving to Laguna Hills, he lived in Forest Knolls for about 30 years.
He was a retired carpenter.
His wife, Cora Petersen, died about 1 ½ years ago.
Burial will be private.
