Man Killed at Ross Fire

On Wednesday afternoon the home of Richard O’Connor at Ross took fire in some mysterious manner and was completely destroyed, together with the contents, except the furniture on the first floor.

It seems that no person was at the place when the fire started. Mrs. O’Connor had gone to the home of a neighbor and was there when she saw her home on fire.

It is not known how the fire started. A steam roller was at work on the road in front of the place, and it is thought that the fire might have started from sparks from the roller.

Harry George who worked for Bert Frohman, who was carrying a box of soap from the house was struck on the back of the head by a falling timber and his neck was broken causing death. Parties who saw the timber falling gave an alarm but George had no time to escape before it struck him.
