Charles Burry Has Left Us

Many friends are grieved to hear of the death of Charles Burry. After a long and wearisome sickness his life came to a close early Friday morning at his home in Ross. He had been a resident of Marin for about 31 years.

“Colonel” Burry, until four years ago when he gave up work on account of his health, had been associated with various newspapers in the county and was a factor in starting the first paper in Mill Valley.

Barry was a native of England, seventy-five years of age, and widely known, and liked over the entire county. He is survived by his widow Mary L. Burrey. (sic)

The funeral was held Monday from St. John’s Episcopal church at Ross and interment was private.
