ELEANOR SCOTT GILBERT
A graveside service was held Wednesday in Portland, Ore., for Eleanor Scott Gilbert of Portland, who formerly lived in San Rafael for 25 years.
Mrs. Gilbert died June 16 at her home in Portland after a lengthy illness. She was 80.
She was born in Hartford City, Ind. She grew up in Portland and graduated from Oregon State University, where she was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta sorority.
Mrs. Gilbert moved back to Portland from San Rafael last October.
She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Portland.
She is survived by a sister, Marjorie Prendergast of Portland. She was preceded in death by her husband of more than 50 years, Capt. Walter W. Gilbert, a Navy doctor.
Burial was at the Willamette National Cemetery in Portland.
The family prefers memorial donations to the Navy’s Carl Vinson Hall Fund, 62510 Old Dominion Dr., McLean, Va., 22101, the Cancer Society, or St. Luke Presbyterian Church, 10 Bayview Dr., San Rafael.
