EDWARD BARCEWSKI

The funeral for Edward R. Barcewski, a longtime Corte Madera resident and retired San Francisco embalmer, was to be held this morning at the Russell and Gooch mortuary in Mill Valley.

Mr. Barcewski died Saturday at Marin General Hospital after a long illness. He was 64.

He was born in Wisconsin and moved to Corte Madera about 25 years ago.

He was a veteran of World War II and had been retired from the Navy.

For many years, he had worked as an embalmer in San Francisco.

He was a member of the San Francisco chapter of the U. S. Submarine Veterans.

Survivors are his wife of 40 years, Evelyn; three sons, Robert Barcewski of Los Altos, James Barcewski of Corte Madera and Jack Barcewski of San Rafael; two daughters, Suzan Barcewski of San Francisco and Nancy Hood of Corte Madera; three brothers, Stanley Barcewski of Milwaukee, Wis., Anton Barcewski of Denver and Leonard Barcewski of Menominee, Mich.; three sisters, Betty Handt of Niagara, Wis., and Pauline Pelmer and Dorothy Kitzke of Menominee; and four grandchildren.

Burial will be at Mount Tamalpais Cemetery in San Rafael.

The family prefers memorial contributions to the American Heart Association.
