PHILLIP TOEPFER
A Mass of Christian Burial for Phillip A. Toepfer of Rohnert Park, a former Marin resident, was celebrated Wednesday at St. Joseph’s Church in Cotati.
Mr. Toepfer died Monday at his home in Rohnert Park after a short illness. He was 81.
He was born in Kansas, and moved to California 43 years ago. He lived many years in Marin County before moving to Sonoma County eight years ago.
Mr. Toepfer had been self-employed as a painting contractor for 40 years. He was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Cotati.
He is survived by his wife, Josepha Toepfer of Rohnert Park; four sons, William F. Toepfer, Phillip A. Toepfer Jr., Charles B. Toepfer and Vern J. Toepfer, all of Novato; four daughters, Imelda M. Egan of Sonoma, Patricia Y. Johnston of Missouri, Eileen E. Roberts of Vacaville and Anita C. Watson of San Rafael; three sisters; 23 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
The family prefers that contributions be made to Home Hospice of Sonoma or the American Cancer Society.
