JACK CARSON HOLMES
Jack Carson Holmes, 75, of Larkspur, died unexpectedly Sunday at Marin General Hospital after a brief illness.
Mr. Holmes was a native of San Francisco and had lived in Larkspur for 32 years.
He served in the Navy during World War II.
Mr. Holmes was an accountant and worked for 30 years for Brooks Equipment Co. of San Francisco. He was its executive vice president when he retired in 1978.
Mr. Holmes also had been employed by the California Centennial Commission, the Bank of America and briefly worked as a tugboat skipper on San Francisco Bay.
He was a longtime member, former treasurer and trustee of the Redwoods Presbyterian Church in Larkspur.
Mr. Holmes also was a member of the Marin Rod and Gun Club, Native Sons of the Golden West, St. Helena Parlor No. 53, and the Baltimore Canyon Improvement Association.
He served on the Larkspur Citizens Advisory Committee.
He is survived by his wife, Frances R. Holmes of Larkspur; a son, James W. Holmes of Larkspur; and a brother, Warnock A. Holmes of San Francisco.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. next Tuesday at the Redwoods Presbyterian Church in Larkspur.
The family prefers memorial gifts to a favorite charity.
