Mrs. M. Armsby, Ross, Summoned

Mrs. Mary Dakin Armsby, wife of the late James Kendall Armsby, who was president of the California Packing Corporation, died at her home in Ross, Tuesday, following an illness of three months, resulting from a stroke.

With her when death called were her son and daughter, Jeffrey Armsby and Mrs. Mary Palmer.

The body was shipped to Chicago for interment, and funeral service here was private.

Mrs. Armsby during her active life was prominent in civic and social affairs of the bay area, and like her distinguished husband, was well informed and educated along broad lines.

The rector, vestry and women’s auxiliary of St. John’s Church, are giving a memorial service of Evening Prayer in memory of the late Mrs. Armsby, a faithful member of the church for over 25 years, on Tuesday evening, Aug. 9th at 8 p.m.

Many of the prominent matron’s friends were unable to attend Mrs. Armsby private funeral services and wished to show their appreciation of her enthusiastic interest in St. John’s Church.
