Former Merchant Dead

Solomon Bear, a tea importer of San Francisco, died in that city on Sunday, July 26th, at the age of 79 and after an illness of a few days. He was a native of Austria. The funeral services were held Tuesday morning.

Solomon Bear kept a general merchandise store in this city over fifty years ago and is well remembered by all of Marin’s old pioneers. His store was on the corner of Fourth and C streets now occupied by the Peter buildings. He was a very charitable man, beloved by all.
