GERTRUDE JENNINGS
Gertrude Jennings, who came to the Bay Area from Germany in 1952 and settled in Fairfax in 1956, collapsed unexpectedly at her home yesterday morning and died at the age of 72.
She lived most of her life in Germany until her first husband died and she decided to join her two brothers in San Carlos.
She worked at a rooming house one of them owned in San Francisco, and there met Gordon Jennings, whom she married in 1954. The couple moved to 106 Hillside Road, Fairfax in 1956, and Mrs. Jennings earned her citizenship papers shortly afterward.
She was a homemaker and avid gardener.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Heinrich Huber, but survived by another, Gottlieb Huber, now of Genoe, Nev., and many nieces and nephews.
Service will be tomorrow at 11 a.m. at Chapel of the Hills, San Anselmo, with burial to follow in Mount Tamalpais Cemetery, San Rafael. The family requests donations to the Kidney Foundation or the Heart Association.
