GLEN L. EGNEW
Glen LaForce Egnew, 69, of San Rafael, collapsed and died unexpectedly Monday while fishing with his grandson at Lagunitas Lake near Fairfax.
Mr. Egnew was born in South Dakota and raised in Sausalito. He had been a Marin resident for 63 years.
During World War II, Mr. Egnew was a member of the Army Air Corps.
For more than 20 years, Mr. Egnew worked as a real estate broker in San Rafael, retiring a year ago. Before entering the real estate field, he worked for H. C. Little Burner Co. in San Rafael.
He was a member of the San Rafael Elks Lodge, San Anselmo American Legion post and the Marin County Board of Realtors.
Survivors are his wife of 44 years, Ruby of San Rafael; two sons, Bruce Egnew of San Rafael and Bradley Egnew of Sonoma; two brothers, Bruce LaPlante of St. Louis and Savoy LaPlante of Long Beach; two sisters, Corinne Brost of Long Beach and Valerie Dillavou of Spearfish, S.D.; and seven grandchildren.
At his request there will be no service. The family prefers contributions to St. Anthony’s Dining Room in San Francisco or a favorite charity.
