MILDRED A. BACHMAN

Mildred A . Bachman of Mill Valley died Monday at The Redwoods in Mill Valley after a lengthy illness. She was 80.

Mrs. Bachman was born in San Francisco and survived the earthquake as an infant.

She attended Tamalpais High School and Munson’s Business College in San Francisco. Mrs. Bachman, a second generation San Franciscan, lived in San Anselmo from 1919 to 1926.

She then returned to San Francisco, working for Stewart’s School Supply Company and later the Remington Rand Corp.

She was also known for her work in caring for friends when they became ill.

She is survived by her husband, William Bachman of San Francisco; a son, Paul William Bachman of Sebastopol; a daughter, Sharon M. Hampton of Tiburon; and five grandchildren.

A funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Russell & Gooch Funeral Chapel in Mill Valley. Friends may call there from 2 to 9 p.m. Wednesday.

A memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Sept. 28 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church in Mill Valley.

Burial will be at Olivet Memorial Park in Colma.

The family prefers that memorial gifts be made to the American Cancer Society or the Nancy Stranzl Scholarship Fund at Marin Catholic High School.
