ESTHER WHITE
Esther Mary White, former Tiburon resident, died Saturday at a Napa hospital after a long illness. She was 58.
Mrs. White was born in South Dakota but had lived in California since 1940. She lived in Tiburon many years before moving to Napa eight months ago.
Mrs. White was a longtime member of the Soaring Society of America, composed of glider enthusiasts, and was former editor of the West Coast Soaring magazine.
She is survived by her husband, Carleton White of Napa, and a brother Edward Patrick Gilmartin of Merrit Island, Fla.
Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Napa Valley Memorial Gardens Mortuary, 2383 Napa-Vallejo Highway. Burial will be in Mount Tamalpais Cemetery, San Rafael.
The family prefers memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society or the Esther White Memorial, Pacific Soaring Council.
