DONALD MacKAY

Donald “Scotty” MacKay of Novato died unexpectedly Tuesday at Novato Community Hospital. He was 69.

Mr. MacKay was born in Scotland. He moved to the United States from Canada about 30 years ago.

He was a retired carpenter. His last job was with Mattock Construction for 15 years.

Mr. MacKay enjoyed spending time with neighborhood children. He coached a soccer team. He also was invited to Lu Sutton School to speak about life in Scotland.

He is survived by his wife, Rachel MacKay of Novato; and two daughters, Ruth MacKay of Spain and Sheila “Kelly” MacKay of San Francisco.

A memorial service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Friday at Keaton’s Chapel of Marin in Novato. Burial will be private.
