Albert Building Manager John J. Blagg, 50, Dies
John J. Blagg, well-known San Rafael accountant and manager of the Albert building in San Rafael, died at 10 p.m. yesterday in a local hospital from injuries suffered Friday in an automobile accident in Solano county.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Keaton’s mortuary, San Rafael. Burial will be at Mt. Olivet cemetery.
Blagg suffered a broken hand, shock and internal injuries when the car he was driving and a junk truck collided on Highway 40 Friday night near Dixon. A passenger in the truck, J. W. Ferrell, 31, Oakland, was killed instantly.
Blagg is survived by his widow, Loraine Blagg, of 301 Jewell street; his mother, Mrs. Martha L. Blagg, San Francisco, and two brothers, Ernest J., San Rafael, and Martin J. Blagg of San Francisco.
Blagg was born in San Francisco May 4, 1902 and when he was three years old his family moved to Fairfax. He has been a resident of Marin county since. His father, John J. Blagg Sr., died in 1928.
Blagg was a former mayor of Fairfax. About 20 years ago he organized an accountancy firm in San Rafael and at the time of his death was in partnership with Mrs. Katherine Clever of Novato in the firm of Blagg and Clever, 1010 B street, San Rafael.
