ALBERT R. TETERS

Albert R. Teters of Sebastopol, the former greens superintendent at San Geronimo National Golf Course, died Thursday at Palm Drive Hospital in Sebastopol. He was 72.

Mr. Teters, a lifelong resident of California, was born in San Diego. He lived in Marin County for about 13 years.

He moved to Marin to help build the San Geronimo National Golf Course in the early 1960s. In 1977, he retired after being the greens superintendent there for 13 years.

After retirement, he and his wife, Mary, moved to Siskiyou County. They moved back to the area and made their home in Sebastopol three years ago.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Teters is survived by two daughters, Linda Pefley of Sarasota, Fla., and Gail Springman of Petaluma; a son, John Teters of Sebastopol; a step-son, Jack McWherter of Paradise; two brothers, Richard Teters of Texas and Gary Teters of Fresno; two sisters, Thelma Chase of Fresno and Florence Kafoed of Grass Valley; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

At his request, no service was held. Inurnment was at Santa Rosa Memorial Park.
