RALPH CORNISH ROWE
Ralph Cornish Rowe, a former San Rafael resident, died Thursday at Watsonville Community Hospital. He was 81.
Mr. Rowe was born into a pioneer Grass Valley family of miners and shopkeepers.
He graduated from Grass Valley High School and the University of California, Berkeley.
He worked for Wells Fargo Bank as a trust officer for 42 years, retiring in 1969.
He lived in San Rafael and San Francisco before moving to Watsonville in 1975.
He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in San Rafael, Seniors In Retirement in Watsonville, Pajaro Valley Historical Association and the Commonwealth Club in San Francisco. Mr. Rowe also was a past president of the University of California Club.
He and his wife enjoyed traveling and visited nearly every part of the world.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothea Rowe of Watsonville; three sons, William Rowe of Ross, David Rowe of Daly City, and the Rev. Richard Rowe of Honolulu; two daughters, Diana Wood of North Bend, Wash., and Carolyn Wilson of Sacramento; a sister, Emma Southern of Grass Valley; 11 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the Sunset View Cemetery Chapel, 101 Colusa Ave., Berkeley.
