FRANK P. LYONS
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Keaton’s Chapel of Marin mortuary in Novato for Frank P. Lyons, a retired newscaster and longtime Novato resident.
Mr. Lyons died Saturday at his home after an illness. He was 85.
He was born in New Jersey and came to San Francisco in 1925. About 15 years later, he moved to Phoenix, Ariz., where he worked as a newscaster for a radio station. He then moved to Bremerton, Wash., to head the communications department and work as a newscaster at the Navy shipyard.
Fifteen years ago, he moved to Novato.
Mr. Lyons was a member of the Veterans of Foreign War Post 818 in San Francisco and was past commander of the Edward Green Post of the VFW in Napa and the American Legion Post 1 in San Francisco.
Survivors are three sons, William A. Lyons of Novato, Frank P. Lyons of Monte Rio, Sonoma County, and Robert J. Lyons of New York, and three grandchildren.
The rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Keaton’s Chapel of Marin.
Burial will be private.
