Tragic Death of Mrs. Benson
Mrs. Ivy P. Benson, wife of Chas. H. Benson, former County Auditor and Recorder, was found dead in a closet of her home in the Warden Tract early Tuesday morning after a search through the night by her husband and neighbors.
Mrs. Benson had been a sufferer from a mental affliction for some time, and following an acute attack of the malady the woman secured a rope and committed suicide by hanging herself.
She was well known here, having resided here with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. James M. Jones, for many years before her marriage. Her husband is employed by the Northwestern Pacific Railroad company. She was 43 years of age. The funeral service was held at 3 o’clock yesterday from Sawyer’s parlors, Rev. L. T. White officiating.
