ELIZABETH CORRIGAN

Elizabeth Aileen Corrigan of San Rafael died Thursday at Marin General Hospital after a short illness. She was 85.

Mrs. Corrigan was born in San Francisco and had lived 19 years in San Rafael.

She was a teacher for 37 years at McKinley School in San Francisco. Mrs. Corrigan taught all grade levels, bur specialized in first grade. She also had been involved in the training of many student teachers over the years. She retired 30 years ago.

Mrs. Corrigan had belonged to the Sienna Club, a group for Catholic professional women. She was also an avid bridge player and had played bridge for 49 years with a group of friends from McKinley School.

She was also a member of St. Isabella’s Church in Terra Linda, where she attended Mass daily.

She is survived by her husband, Eugene F. Corrigan of San Rafael; a daughter, Mary Jeanne Lewis of Kenai, Alaska; and two grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9 a.m. Saturday at St. Isabella’s Church.

The rosary will be recited at 8 tonight at Keaton’s Mortuary in San Rafael. Burial will be at Holy Cross Cemetery in Colma.

The family prefers that contributions be made to St. Anthony’s Dining Room or a favorite charity.
