THOMAS J. McCLAIN
Thomas J. McClain of San Rafael was a lifetime member of the Disabled American Veterans Marin Chapter and the American Rifle Association. He died Dec. 8 at 82.
Mr. McClain was born in Pocahontas, Va., and lived in Ironton, Ohio. He was educated in the Columbus and Pedro, Ohio school systems. He retired from Lucas Valley Dairy, where he worked as a driver and plant man. Mr. McClain was a member of the Teamsters Union. He served in the Marine Corps from 1942 to 1943 and was wounded in the battle of Guadalcanal.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy G. McClain of San Rafael; son, Thomas J. McClain III of Omaha, Neb.; sisters, Darlene Potts of Springfield, Ohio, and Wanda Malone of Charlotte, N.C., Janet Aller of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio; and brother, Charles E. McClain of South Point, Ohio. Private services were held.
