Col. OTIS S. OSBORNE
Retired Army Lt. Col. Otis S. Osborne of Novato died Sept. 25 at Letterman General Hospital at the Presidio of San Francisco after a long illness. He was 64.
Colonel Osborne, a native of Arizona, had lived in Marin for about 10 years, the past three years in Novato.
He enlisted as a private in the Army during World War II and was commissioned as a lieutenant within two months. He served in Europe during the war. In 1959, he retired from the military. Colonel Osborne was active with various military clubs and associations.
Survivors are a son, Harry Osborne of Tennessee; a daughter, Augusta Osborne of Tennessee; and a sister, Marilyn Guenther of Orinda. He also was a dear friend of the Jon Gilmour family of Novato.
Arrangements are handled by California Funeral Service in San Francisco.
