Death of Allen Emmens

Allen Emmens died suddenly of heart disease at the Union Hotel in this city last Friday. Dr. H. O. Howitt was summoned, but it was too late. In a notebook deceased had written that his heart was troubling him. He appointed H. P. Proctor to take charge of his effects in case of sudden death.

In 1868 deceased had been a member of the house of representatives from Dallas county, Ala.
