Strange Illness Ends Life of Francis Eaton

Francis Eaton, a nephew of Robert N. Carson, and employed at the Carson Glove Company’s works for about 10 years, passed away Tuesday morning at the Cottage Hospital where he was taken early Monday morning following his discovery at the factory in an unconscious condition.

The physicians in attendance pronounced the cause of death as hemorrhage of the brain. It is reported that the deceased did not regain consciousness from the time he was discovered by Mr. Sparrow. The deceased had been acting as night watchman of the factory for some time, and had quarters in the building. Mr. Sparrow found him lying on the floor, where he had apparently fallen while in the act of disrobing for bed.

The remains were taken charge of by Dr. F. E. Sawyer and removed to the residence of Mr. Carson on Van Ness avenue, San Francisco. The funeral will be held today and burial will be made in Woodlawn cemetery.

The deceased was a member of the San Rafael Lodge of Elks. His sudden death came as a sad shock to those who knew him.
