KATHERINE B. RIPPE
A private funeral for Katherine B. Rippe of Greenbrae was to be held today in San Anselmo.
Mrs. Rippe died Wednesday at the Greenbrae Convalescent Hospital after a lengthy illness. She was 89.
She was born and reared in San Francisco. Her family moved to their summer home in Kentfield after they lost everything in the 1906 earthquake and fire. Mrs. Rippe later returned to San Francisco and lived there until moving to Greenbrae in 1980. She was a homemaker.
Her husband, John C. Rippe Sr., died in 1961.
She is survived by a daughter, Helen Spangler of Edmonds, Wash.; a son, John C. Rippe Jr. of San Anselmo; a sister, Anita Ehlers of San Rafael; eight grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter.
Inurnment was at Olivet Memorial Park in Colma. The family prefers that memorial gifts be made to a favorite charity.

A Death Notice in the same paper adds that her great-granddaughter was named Caitlin Spangler.
