FAY WILMA SCOVILL

A memorial service for Fay Wilma Scovill of Corte Madera will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Valley Baptist Church in San Rafael.

Mrs. Scovill, 72, died Monday at Kaiser Hospital in Terra Linda.

She was born in Oregon and came to California as a young woman. She lived in San Rafael for 35 years before moving to Corte Madera 12 years ago.

She graduated from College of Marin’s licensed vocational nursing program in 1964 and worked at Marin General Hospital for a short time.

She had been active in the P.T.A. and was made a lifetime member of that organization. She also was a member of the Buzz ‘N’ Boots Square Dancing Club.

She and her husband, Willard Fenton Scovill, who met at the Larkspur Grocery Store, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary a year and a half ago.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Scovill is survived by two daughters, Beverly Milkey of Sacramento and Carol Kosova of Boca Raton, Fla.; a son, Peter Scovill of Thousand Oaks; a sister, Rena Gaither of Novato; two brothers, Floyd Gaither of Sea Ranch and Lloyd Gaither of Grants Pass, Ore.; and nine grandchildren.

Another son, David Scovill, died last year.

The family prefers memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society.
