JAMES E. HOWARD

James Emmons Howard of Honolulu, a former Marin resident, died Saturday at a Honolulu hospital. He was 72.

Mr. Howard was a native of Portland, Ore.

Before moving to Hawaii, he had lived in San Rafael for more than 10 years. Before his retirement, Mr. Howard was a yacht broker in San Rafael.

He was a registered parliamentarian, past commodore of the Loch Lomond Yacht Club and a member of the Northern California Predicted Log Racing Association.

He also was a member of the Parnassus Presidio Lodge, San Francisco chapter of the Royal Arch Masons, Knights Templar, Islam Temple Shrine, American Institute of Parliamentarians, Hawaii State Association of Parliamentarians, National Association of Parliamentarians, Freedom Foundation of Valley Forge, Honolulu Council of the Navy League, International Brotherhood of Magicians, Hawaii State Magicians Association, International Order of the Blue Gavel, Mayflower Society and Oahu Republican League.

Survivors are his wife, Marcella Howard of Honolulu; two daughters, Sally Bailey and Margaret Zenk, both of California; and two grandsons.

At his request, thee will be no service.

The family prefers donations to the Muscular Distrophy Association.
