Thos. J. Pilkington Dies At San Anselmo After Long Illness

Thomas James Pilkington, widely known and loved in Marin county for years, was summoned by death Saturday night, Dec. 1 in his home in San Anselmo after a long suffering illness.

Pilkington, while residing in Ross and San Anselmo, roamed the hills, paths and byways of Marin County (illegible word) and for a number of years contributed folk-lore stories, and unknown facts of Marin county history to numerous Marin County papers. The name “Marvelous Marin” was adopted from his original newspaper column “Marvelous Marinographs” which contained news of vital interest to all residents of Marin.

His family previously resided in Petaluma. Mrs. Pilkington passed away several years ago and he is survived by his daughters, Miss Josephine Pilkington and Mrs. Elsie Storie, who were his devoted companions. He was a member of the Marin Lodge F. and A. M. and private funeral services were held in the mortuary of Keaton and Dusel which preceded cremation in Oakland.
