JOHN HANCOCK
John Hancock of San Rafael, a retired construction superintendent, died Friday at Rafael Convalescent Home in San Rafael. He was 88.
Mr. Hancock was a native of Carthage, Mo., and had lived in Marin since 1947.
He served with the Marines in France in 1918.
Mr. Hancock worked for many years as a construction superintendent for Schultz Building Co., which developed much of Greenbrae.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth Hancock of Fairfax; two daughters, Barbara Gordon of Fairfax and Jeanne Blake of Sonoma; a son, James Hancock of Modesto; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Services were pending at the Chapel of the Hills in San Anselmo.
