JAMES VIVIAN
A memorial Mass for James Vivian of San Rafael, who died at sea Monday, will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Sylvester’s Church in San Rafael.
Mr. Vivian, 54, was a passenger in the Girlfriend III when he was swept overboard during a storm. The boat was foundering outside the Golden Gate Bridge.
He was president of the National Truck School, headquartered in Novato.
Mr. Vivian is survived by his wife, Betty; two sons, Tim and Ted Vivian; his mother, Frances Vivian; and a brother, Michael Vivian.
The family prefers memorial contributions to a favorite charity.
