Former Minister Answers Last Call
The funeral of John W. Martin, for forty three years a minister of the gospel in Minnesota, was held last Saturday at the Methodist church.
Death occurred last Thursday at the home of his daughter, Mrs. G. B. Barnes on Petaluma avenue, where he had made his home since his retirement about 12 years ago. Four years ago he made a short visit in the East with his wife, who was taken fatally ill on the journey and died in Chicago.
Mr. Martin is survived by his daughters, Mrs. Barnes and Miss Clara Martin, of the Malay peninsula and three sons, Arthur, of Nanking, China; James R. of Boston, and Ernest G., of Stanford University.
The funeral was held under the direction of Dr. F. E. Sawyer, and interment made in Mt. Tamalpais cemetery.
