MRYTLE E. MATTHIESEN
Mrytle E. Matthiesen, 88, a longtime resident of Novato, died after a lengthy illness Saturday at the Hill Road Convalescent Hospital in Novato.
Mrs. Matthiesen was born in Oakland.
She was a charter member of the Women’s Auxiliary of the Novato Fire Department and a member of Novato Senior Citizens and of the Black Point Women’s Club.
She and her husband, Matt, who died earlier, operated the Little Cliff House Bar and Restaurant in Black Point for many years.
She is survived by two daughters, Betty Listman of Novato and Mrytle Pritchard of Santa Rosa; a son, Ted Matthiesen of Roseville; seven grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Redwood Chapel in Novato. Inurnment will be private.
The family prefers memorial contributions to Guide Dogs for the Blind in San Rafael, Hospice of Marin or a favorite charity.
